A notice from FBR
You can prepare on your own, but a lawyer will improve your chances.
FBR notices usually ask you to file a missing return, explain income or assets, or answer an audit. A simple notice about a missing return you can often handle yourself on IRIS. Notices about amended assessments, audits or large demands are best answered with a tax advisor or tax lawyer.
The law
Income Tax Ordinance 2001 (e.g. sections 114, 122, 176)
