About VakeelNama

Why it exists
Most people in Pakistan find a lawyer through a relative or a tout outside the kutchery, without knowing whether that person handles their kind of case, or is enrolled at all. Lawyers, meanwhile, run busy practices out of a paper diary and a clerk’s memory.
What we do
We list advocates whose Bar Council enrolment we have checked, by city and area of law, and let clients describe their problem and hear back without handing out their phone number. For lawyers, we provide the tools to run the practice: diary, cases, clients, fees, notices and invoices.
What we do not do
VakeelNama is not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, take a share of lawyers’ fees, or rank lawyers by who pays more. Our guides explain the law in general terms; your lawyer advises on your case.
In both languages
Everything works in English and Urdu, and search understands Roman Urdu, so “bail”, “BAIL” and “ضمانت” find the same lawyers.
