CNIC, B-form or family record problems
You can start this on your own. The steps below show how.
Wrong names, dates of birth, marital status, a missing child or a blocked CNIC are fixed by NADRA itself. You do not need a lawyer for this. Go to a NADRA Registration Centre, or use the Pak ID app for many changes.
The law
National Database and Registration Authority Ordinance 2000
What to do
- 1
Check what is wrong on the Pak ID app or by visiting a NADRA centre with your CNIC.
- 2
Take proof of the correct details: birth certificate, matric certificate, nikah nama, or a parent's CNIC.
- 3
Apply for the modification at the centre. Blood relatives may need to come with you for family tree changes.
- 4
For a blocked CNIC, ask the centre which document clears the block and follow up with your tracking number.
Keep these ready
- Your CNIC and any old CNIC
- Birth certificate or matric certificate
- Nikah nama or divorce papers, for marital status
- Parents' CNICs for family records
When to get a lawyer
Get a lawyer only if NADRA refuses and you need a court order, for example in a citizenship dispute.
- How long it takes
- Usually days to a few weeks
- Cost
- NADRA fee only
